Rental terms

The details, up front

Deposit, bond, pick-up and return — everything you need to know before you send your enquiry.

Paying for your hire

  • A 20% non-refundable deposit secures your date.
  • The remaining balance is due 48 hours before pick-up. We confirm your pick-up time and payment deadline by email.
  • Package prices cover one hire day (pick-up to return within 24 hours). A next-day return counts as one hire day; each day beyond that is charged at 50% of the package price.

The bond

  • A refundable bond of $100 covers the pieces while they are in your care — it is returned when everything comes back in the condition it left.
  • Damaged or missing items are charged at replacement cost, taken from your bond where possible. Any amount above the bond remains payable.

Pick-up & return

  • Pick-up and return times are arranged with you by email — day or evening use is welcome.
  • Late returns are charged at $30 per hour or $75 per day, not both for the same period. Return at the time confirmed by email.

Cancelling or rescheduling

  • Cancel 7 or more days before your event for a full refund of anything paid beyond the deposit.
  • The deposit is always non-refundable. Cancel with at least 48 hours but less than 7 days’ notice for a 50% refund of anything paid beyond the deposit.
  • Cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice: no refund of hire payments.
  • Wet weather? You can reschedule once, free of charge, to a new date within 3 months.

Cleaning

  • A $50 cleaning fee applies if items come back needing excessive cleaning.

Candles & safety

  • LED candles and tea lights only. Keep any open flame away from fabric and never leave tea lights unattended. No sparklers or fireworks.
  • Set up tables and poles on stable ground, take umbrellas down in strong wind, and supervise children around the hire pieces at all times.

Your dry hire

  • This is a dry hire: you collect, style and return the pieces yourself.
  • Use is at the hirer’s own risk, to the extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes your rights or guarantees under that law.
  • The hirer is responsible for any council permit or booking needed for their chosen location.
  • The hirer is responsible for the food and alcohol they bring, including the responsible service of alcohol.
